THE UNDERWORLD OF DARKNESS BACK TO THE WORLD OF LIGHT

GAITMASTER GATEKEEPER  the patient is the voyager.
An under-recognized effect of stroke is the impact on mood that often occurs. Many individuals develop depression, anxiety, PSD, PTSD, and other psychological sequelae. These disorders can significantly affect their lives and their relationships.

Ego death is a "complete loss of subjective self-identity". The term is used in various intertwined contexts, with related meanings. Jungian psychology uses the synonymous term psychic death, referring to a fundamental transformation of the psyche. In death and rebirth mythology, ego death is a phase of self-surrender and transition, as described by Joseph Campbell in his research on the mythology of the Hero's Journey. Ego is here presented as an accumulation of thoughts and emotions, continuously identified with, which creates the idea and feeling of being a separate entity from one's self. Muslim Sufis call it fana ('annihilation'). The Jungian term "psychic death" a synonym for "ego death": Fanaa (Arabicفناء fanāʾ ) in Sufism is the "passing away" or "annihilation" (of the self). Fana means "to die before one dies", a concept highlighted by famous notable Persian mystics such as Rumi. There is controversy around what Fana exactly is, with some Sufis defining it as the absolute annihilation of the human ego before God, whereby the self becomes an instrument of God's plan in the world (Baqaa). Baqaa comprises three degrees, each one referring to a particular aspect of the divine theophanies as principle of existence and its qualitative evolution, consisting of faith, knowledge, and grace. It is the stage where the seeker finally gets ready for the constant vision of God. Hence, it can be termed as Divine Eternity.

The journey from ego death to ego rebirth.
The time has come for our patient to seek new levels of reality. The advantage of this temporary ego death is the fact that the patient, soon to become a hero will have the opportunity to obtain a new perfect state of enlightenment. The hero step by step goes forth from darkness and depression back to the world of  Light, to experienc the new reality, with the advantage of starting from the ego−free state, where all things are like a cloudless sky.

THE GAITKEEPER WILL ESCORT THE HERO FROM THE UNDERWORLD OF DARKNESS AND DEPRESSION, BACK TO THE WORLD OF LIGHT meaning back to the world of the living, back to the surface of the earth.

A katabasis or catabasis (Ancient Greek: κατάβασις, romanized: katábasis, lit. 'descent'; from κατὰ (katà) 'down', and βαίνω (baínō) 'go') is a journey to the underworld.

The patient is the hero, who will take advantage of their temporary ego death and work hard to obtain the new perfect ego.
